Problem with picture despription on Punkfoto de solved

Karl Nagel was so friendly to instantly react and take the insulting picture description out. I still document the incidence, since what I saw there, sticks with me as a bad reminder > of things you had a chance to involutarily endure, just by being a youth, a punk, a teenager, seeking to express their ideas, at that time in Germany, and not right away assuming that „everyone was evil“ in any sense. Only in due course one had to find out the hard way, how simple basic social interaction can be a powerful socially deceitful means of discrediting individuals that simply can be victimized, And this mostly happens if you don’t conform to social crowds.

Open letter to Punkfoto de: Racist agitation in the form of character assassination and sexism on your site

What’s really weird is that the sleazy, sexist picture despription came from a woman. Petra, known as the Hexe > https://www.punkfoto.de/hexe, who was always pestering around with a camera, and who had happened to be given sexy lingerie crap as a gift by her then lover partner at that time named Flip … which piqued her, but she accepted it anyway because she strived to be one of that “scene” and therefore she might have figured that seh „had“ to be complicit with the male persons then.

So the groveling continues today at the expense of third parties by means of photos.

I also remember her appearing emphatically anti-racist in an almost socially pedagogical fashion.

(Incidentally, some other picture taken by her in which I can be seen is definitely placed incorrectly, that one picture can only have been taken in Cologne in 1983, in the Stollwerk at a Bad Brains gig.)

I wrote about the racism problem with the Frankfurt Punks before, in the case of lyrics by a band calling themselves Middle Class Fantasies > https://simorgh.de/sprechen/wenn-unter-nazis-raus-fragwuerdige-inhalte-laufen/ – that blog entry is so far only in German.

Interesting in terms of normalized „völkisch“ vibes at that time is also a song by the Frankfurt punk band Volxfront singing about how THEY want the WW2 allies to leave Germany. The song is > Volxfront – Besatzer Raus. „Occupants out“.

Anyhow. Any critical person – and of course there where hardly any,  one must assume – would get into conflict with the youth-cultural dynamics that dominated in that city, in that scene, at that given time.

And probably the effect of those „dynamics“ wouldn’t completely vanish, since people pass on their crappy hear-say stories, village-like from ear to ear, to give people „they didn’t like“ an awkward and bad reputation. In reality they just really couldn’t cope with political divergence in the punk movement.

So it happend that I am totally disgusted now to find a sick comment underneath a photo where I am seen talking to some individual in Frankfurt in the 80ies as a punk.

About this picture. Underneath which it says that Person X was talking quote: „with a certain lady (huh, caught!)”

„My comment on this is – and I have just posted this on your site: The racist filth-mongering and eternal character assassination that the scene in FFM generated in the 80s. The so-called “lady” is me. I was queer back then too and certainly not part of this pissy “Frankfurt” scene. We observe the scene. Character assassination is no fun. I would ask you to change or delete the image description, which is an attempt at character assassination. I probably can’t ask that all pictures in which something is said about me be deleted, without replacement.

I was a victim of racism in Frankfurt in the “scene” in the early 1980s. To this day, the racist incitement against my person in the form of defamation continues in this scene, as I am aware.

I ask you to delete this ugly, sexist and inhuman description of me – I am a man today [and this is truly harmful to my person].

With another picture on there on which I can be clearly be seen, in the forefront, I felt it’s okay if it stays there the way it is.
