Der US-Philosoph Gary Steiner tritt f\u00fcr ein Ende des Anthropozentrismus ein.<\/p>\n<p>Das Problem bei Steiner ist, dass er selbst anthropozentrisch argumentiert. So sagt er auf seinem Uni-Profil:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If we were to acknowledge the fundamental similarities between human and non-human animal life\u2014for humans, too, are animals\u2014it would be impossible for us to ignore the moral implications of the ways in which we use animals to satisfy our desires&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Er spricht also von der Wichtigkeit der Anerkennung der fundamentalen \u00c4hnlichkeiten zwischen Menschen und nichtmenschlichen Tieren als einer Vorraussetzung zur Anerkennung von Tierrechten, weitl\u00e4ufig gesagt.<\/p>\n<p>Er macht damit das menschliche Parameter wieder zum Zentrum von Wichtigkeit und Relevanz, zum Ma\u00df der Dinge. Relevant f\u00fcr Tierrechte ist aber nicht in wie weit nichmenschliche Tiere so sind wie Menschen in gewissen Hinsichten. Der Vergleich ist keine echte Basis zur Anerkennung der nichtmenschlichen Tierwelt in ihrer Besonderheit und in ihrer Einmaligkeit. Steiner ist tats\u00e4chlich selbst anthropozentrisch orientiert, aber in tierfreundlicher Weise.
